Slower, by Design.
Whole botanicals, blended by hand in small batches and sealed in reusable violet glass. Every step here is chosen for what it preserves, not for what it speeds up.

01Sourcing
Whole plants, nothing standing in for them
Every formula begins with the plant itself — steam-distilled essential oils, cold-pressed carriers, resins and roots chosen for what they actually do, not for how they read on a label.
We buy in small quantities from growers and distillers we can name, and we buy often, so the material arriving in the studio is close to harvest rather than close to expiry. Rose that still smells like a garden at dusk. Lavender with the green edge left in.
If an ingredient cannot earn its place in the blend, it does not go in. There are no fillers here to make a bottle feel fuller than it is.

02Small-Batch Crafting
Hand-blended and hand-poured in Vancouver, BC
Everything is made here, by hand, in batches small enough to watch. Oils are blended and left to marry. Wax is poured one vessel at a time and given the hours it needs to set without cracking or pulling from the glass.
Small batches mean we can adjust — a half-percent less orange, a longer rest — instead of committing a season to a formula that is only almost right.
It is slower. It is also the only way we know to keep a hand in every bottle that leaves the studio.

03Reusable Violet Glass
The science of the dark bottle
Botanical actives are photosensitive. Visible light — the ordinary daylight in a bathroom, the bulb above a vanity — accelerates oxidation, breaking down the delicate terpenes and antioxidants that make a plant extract worth using in the first place. Clear glass offers almost no defence.
Violet glass filters the full visible spectrum while allowing a narrow band of violet and infrared light to pass through. That specific transmission slows molecular degradation and helps preserve the potency, aroma and colour of what is inside — without a single synthetic preservative doing the work.
The bottles are built to be kept. Rinse, refill with dried botanicals, decant a favourite oil, hold a single stem. The glass outlives the formula on purpose.

Our non-negotiables
Some of what defines a formula is what never enters it. This list has not changed since the first batch, and it is not open for reformulation.
- No synthetics
- No parabens
- No artificial fragrance
- No dyes
- No sulphates or phthalates
- No animal testing, ever — vegan and cruelty-free
A portion of proceeds supports charitable initiatives.
Quietly, and without a campaign attached to it. It has been part of the work since the first batch.
